Hi, I’m Paul.
I’m a force free, positive reinforcement and choice based dog trainer, based in Tillingham, Southminster, Essex. Providing puppy development plans, reactive dog programs, through to general 121 training and behaviour packages to suit the individual dog.
The ’Walk in the Park’ Approach
I believe that every dog should live a happy, stress-free life. By using my diverse range of skills and passion for reward-based methods, I thrive on making my client’s training programmes as easy and accessible as possible for them. Providing support on a 121 basis at home and in real world scenarios, your dog can adapt and build desirable habits. Making it just a ‘Walk in the Park’ for owners and their dog, from puppy training through to reactive rehabilitation.
Why are you a 121 specialist, you may ask?
Good question. I thrive on building relationships and providing my clients with a high-quality customer experience. I enjoy helping dog owners and giving continuous online support throughout their training journey. You don’t have to feel alone, we work as a team to improve the lives of our dogs.
It is the norm for dog owners to think they must go to training classes, but this can often be daunting and stressful for them and their dogs. Knowing there is an alternative to classes can be life changing. Providing a safe, stress free place for owners to learn how to train and help their dog is very rewarding.
Having 121 sessions with me, will mean you can relax, ask any questions, have total focus on your needs and not have to share your time with others.
I can create bespoke training programmes for you that help your individual puppy or dog. We can train at your home or arrange set ups in real life scenarios, with other dogs if needed. I passionately believe my bespoke puppy development plans are more efficient than training classes, especially in those early weeks and months of their lives.
Reading dog’s body language - It’s in my DNA
From working at Dog’s Trust for 6 years and working with my own clients, I believe one of my most unique skills is introducing dogs to each other. Being able to read dog’s body language, knowing when dogs are being overwhelmed or not able to cope and knowing when to stop is a very important skills that not all dog trainers have. Pushing dogs to their limits or carrying out intense training sessions can be counterproductive.
We need to listen to our dogs, what is their body language telling us. Give them breaks, make training about them and they will learn the fun way.
My mission – To build a pool of dog assistants
To be able to increase the number of dogs I can really help, I knew that I had to put the welfare of the limited number of stooge dogs that I had initially and not overwhelm them. Therefore, I created an innovative mission to build a pool of dog assistants. Willing dogs and their owners to be at hand when needed. For them, they are just having a ‘Walk in the Park’ and knowing they are helping another dog owner.
From my first social media campaign alone, I got 35 applications and the majority went on to passing their assessments. I am so proud to create this pool of dogs. The opportunities I can now give to my client’s dogs who are reactive to other dogs, people and environmental stimuli is immense.
