The deeper I go into behaviour plans, the more I realise that separation related training is one of the most important skills a dog in a domestic life needs to learn.

Whether that be the ability to go behind a baby gate or be comfortable in a crate. If your dog has a fear issue, especially in the house, you will need to create a safe space for them, this is paramount not only to them learning that visitors are safe, but also simply to you practically being able to live your life and have visitors.

Even if your dog does not suffer from fear, you never know when a practical situation is going to arise where your dog needs to be put away for a certain period of time.

I would strongly recommend separation related training, it is a hugely important thing for your dog to learn, even if they don't have behaviour issues but especially if they do.
